Keep Your Drink Cooler Longer - Emergency Option!!

Public holiday today!! Woke up early, had breakfast with family. Strolled along a popular mall in PJ and had some lunch. In between the two, spent almost an hour looking for parking.

Finally had some alone time in the afternoon.

Cold beverage of choice on hand, Iflix on the big screen, leg up on the stool. Life is good.
Couch Potato mode = Full Blast.

Suddenly i realized my drink is warming up faster than expected. Not wanting to spoil the experience, ran to the kitchen to look for something.

Quick thinking mode on. Air is a good insulator as long I can trap a layer between what I want to insulate and the surrounding. Looked around the kitchen, not wanting to miss my movie for long.
Tada. Solution!!

First, wrap a crumpled piece of A4 paper around the can. Leave some at the bottom and wrap around the bottom. Wrap it loosely because you want the trap a layer of air between the can and the surrounding.

Find a mug to hold everything together. The part of the paper at the top of the can, try to fold it onto itself. ( See red arrow below ). This would form a seal, trapping a layer of air in the loose fitting paper below it.

At the end, i can't feel the cold on the surface of the mug = VICTORY.

Drink stayed cool until pretty much the end of the movie. Try this if you can't find those foam insulators and the last thing you want to do is to drive to the shops to get one. I dare say it works better than those foam insulators.
